Workshops & Trainings

Ontario Council of International Cooperation (OCIC) and FDR

OCIC was excited to launch our Innovation Lab 2021, an experiential, collaborative learning series
between 60+ youth and Global Women’s Network, The Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, Knowledge
Equity Lab, Partners In Health Canada, The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund, World Accord
and Youth Challenge International, came together to innovate reporting through data journalism,
interactive mapping, podcasting and photo journalism. Over 15 days youth participants had the
opportunity to partner with participating organizations.

Manitoba Council for International Cooperation (MCIC) and FDR

MCIC partnered with Feminist Data & Research (FDR) to offer members and partners a hands-on gender & development training course focusing on completing gender assessments using a Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP) lens. Over two sessions, participants learned:

  • The context of gender & development, with a focus on women of colour and feminist movements in the global south;
  • Definitions and terms for producing feminist analysis in line with the FIAP from Global Affairs Canada (GAC);
  • Review of real-world case studies using gender assessments completed by FDR;
  • Hands-on work with other participants and facilitators;
