Gender Based Analysis Plus Assessment and Gender Mainstreaming for the Government of St. Lucia

The project funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) enabled FDR  to provide expertise to the government of St. Lucia in gender, race, ethnicity, disability and overall intersectionality assessment in support of the Medium-Term Development Plan and the National Sustainable Development Plan. In support of the  Division of Gender Relations (DGR) and in partnership with Gender Champions from Ministry of Economic Development (MOED), Ministry of Finance (MOF) + Ministry of Equity (MOEq), Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC), Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), Community Groups, Citizens, Industry Stakeholders developed the assessment strategy, conducted baseline studies and trained government stakeholders in gender mainstreaming and gender budgeting including the following:

  •   Outline a Strategic Gender Coordination Mechanism 
  •   Define Gender Based Analysis Plus Responsive Indicators
  •   Design Plan - Multi-Year Cross-Sectoral Implementation for all governmental departments
  •   Define Future State of Gender, Intersectionality and Development in St Lucia
  •   Establish Approach to Reach Future State Based on Medium and Long-Term Priorities
  •   Develop 3-Year Indicative Timeline + Milestones + Budget Identifying Clear  Responsibilities for Individual
