Inukjuak, Nunavik, QC – 2021 – ongoingAs the Pirursiivik Project enters a fourth year, Makivik and One Drop seek to continue the work of realizing the construction of a year-round greenhouse and expanding the project into other Inuit communities in Nunavik. The project aims to strengthening the food sovereignty through the improved access to fresh produce and promoting healthy habits and creativity in Nunavik through activities about food, water, traditional plants and gardening, social art, and the implementation of a year-round greenhouse and food centre.
Feminist Data and Research – FDR, Inc. (FDR) focuses on evaluating the project using the Organization for Economic Co- operation and Development’s Development Assistance Committee (OECD-DAC) criteria as well as gender and anti-oppression lens. FDR will place a specific emphasis on evaluating scalability and sustainability of the project’s needs to document the results to date and lessons learned, which will be used to mobilize additional funding for the second phase of the project and help other communities in Nunavik realize their own initiatives related to this project.
